What is the Meta Pixel and Conversions API?
The Pixel tracks events in the browser, and the Conversions API sends them from a server. Used together, they help Meta measure more reliably.
Why are my Meta results different from my real leads?
Common causes are missing or duplicated events and low Event Match Quality. Event mapping and deduplication address these.
Do you manage my Meta ads too?
No. This service covers Meta conversion tracking and measurement only, not campaign creation or ongoing management.
What is Event Match Quality?
Meta's indicator of how well your events can be matched to people. Parameters and identifiers are reviewed based on the data available.
What do you need from me?
Access to your Meta Events Manager and website or tag manager, and knowledge of which events matter, such as leads or purchases.
Does Conversions API replace the Pixel?
No. CAPI adds a server-side signal alongside the Pixel. Most setups use both together, with browser and server events deduplicated, rather than replacing one with the other.
How does deduplication actually work?
A shared event_id is sent with both the browser and server version of the same action. Meta uses that identifier to recognise them as one event instead of two, so the conversion is not counted twice.
How do you set up the Lead event correctly?
Lead is tied to a confirmed action, such as a completed instant form or a genuinely meaningful message exchange, not a generic click or page view, so it reflects a real lead rather than inflated volume.
How is purchase value tracked?
The Purchase event is sent with the order value and currency alongside the conversion itself, so reporting reflects revenue, not just a count of purchases.
Does a message automatically count as a qualified lead?
No. A message being sent is not the same as a qualified conversation. Where message tracking is used, that distinction is kept clear rather than treating every message as a lead.
Why do my Meta numbers differ from GA4 or my real leads?
Different platforms use different attribution windows, counting rules and event definitions. Missing or duplicated Pixel/CAPI events and low Event Match Quality are common causes, and event mapping with deduplication addresses these.
Can old or missing Meta conversion data be recovered?
Not retroactively in most cases. If an event was not firing or was misconfigured, that historical data usually cannot be rebuilt. The focus is on making the setup trustworthy going forward.
Does this bypass privacy or consent requirements?
No. Conversions API and Pixel tracking both still need to respect consent and privacy requirements for your site and audience. Neither is a way around them.
